Tommy J. Koonce

Tommy J. Koonce, 80, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, October 5, 2018 at Throckmorton Cemetery with Rev. Gene King officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. A visitation is planned from 12:30-1:30p.m., Friday, October 5, 2018, at the funeral home,107 N. Austin, Throckmorton, TX.

Tommy was born May 24, 1938 in Throckmorton Co., to Elizabeth Anne Hooker (Whitby). He married Fern (Hammond) on January 2, 1981 in Snyder, TX. Tommy was born and raised in Throckmorton, and later moved to Clyde in 1985. He loved fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Fern Koonce of Clyde; daughter, LaRhonda Moore and husband Charley of Rising Star, TX; son, David Koonce and wife Donna of Snyder; two step-sons, Rick Cox of Houston, and Jay Cox of Paris, TX; three granddaughters, Kara Smith and husband Nathan of Belton, Tana Isbell and husband Ben of Brock, A'Lex Lutz and husband Trevor of Snyder; and two great-grandsons, Carson Isbell of Brock; and Kelton Smith of Belton.

He is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth (Whitby) Hooker; and brother, John "Buzzy" McMullin.
