Tony Lopez, 71, of Abilene, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, March 7, 2025, at the St. George Catholic Church with Father Albert J. Devanesan officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell. A rosary is planned from 6:00 to 6:30, Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the funeral home, 304 N 2nd Street, Haskell, Texas.

Tony was born December 18, 1953 in Haskell, Texas to Josefa (Martinez) and Ponciano Lopez, Sr. He loved playing Bingo and the lottery, and he also loved reading and watching movies. He was an adventurer, social butterfly, and never met a stranger. He loved all his friends at his home community, that was his happy place!

He is survived by his brother, Ponciano Lopez, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Josefa and Ponciano Lopez, Sr.; 2 sisters, Susanna Rodriquez, and Linda Rojo.
