Veoma Moses

Veoma Moses, 86, a long time resident of Elbert, TX, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Olney Hamilton Hospital, Olney.  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Elbert Baptist Church, Elbert, with Rev. Marty Light officiating. Burial will follow the service at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the funeral home in Throckmorton.

Veoma was born February 16,1930 in Young County to Oleta(Roark) and John Sloan.  She married Van Franklin Moses on June 15,1946 in Graham.  She was a member at Elbert Baptist Church. Veoma enjoyed working outside and was a servant to any in need.

She is survived by her husband, Van Franklin Moses of Elbert;  two sons, Jay L. Moses and wife Nan of Coleman, and Van A. Moses and wife Jan of Elbert; five grandchildren,  Lacy Ruempolhamer, Jacy Russell, Tyler Moses, Russell Moses and John Moses. thirteen great grandchildren;  one brother-in-law, Burl Moses and wife Frances of Throckmorton; two sister-in-laws, Pat Reedy of Mineral Wells, and Nancy Sloan of New Castle.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, J.A. Sloan and Doyle Sloan; and a sister Nadine Sloan.

Memorials may be given to Elbert Baptist Church, 2707 FM 1711, Olney, TX 76374.
