Vera Lovell (Cox) Hines, of Abilene, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Hendrick Hospital in Abilene, Texas. Vera was 93. Graveside services will be Monday 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 304 N. 2nd Street in Haskell.
Vera was born February 18, 1921 in Stag Creek, Texas, to Lewis Burt Cox and Ruth Naomi (Coker). Vera married Ted Hines on October 14, 1939 in Throckmorton, Texas. She was a member at Eastside Baptist Church in Haskell, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Lewis Burt Cox and Ruth Naomi Cox, husband; Ted Hines; and three brothers; Willard, L.B., and Hershel.
Vera is survived by her daughter; Renia Smith of Abilene, Texas; grandson; Todd Smith of Lubbock, Texas, granddaughter; Angela Smith of Pecos, Texas, two great granddaughters; Leesha Smith and Madison Smith both of Lubbock, Texas, one sister; Pearl Rinehart of Rule, Texas; and two special nephews; Bob and Jerry Hines both of Arlington, Texas.
