Vernay "Dub" Wilson Howard

Vernay "Dub" Wilson Howard, aged 78, passed away on January 12, 2025, at his home in Paint Creek, Texas. Born on July 7, 1946, in Haskell County, TX, Dub dedicated over 40 years to his business, Beggs Wholesale Company, and served as the Secretary of the Paint Creek School Board of Trustees for many years.

Dub was known for his relaxed and thoughtful demeanor, always taking the time to listen and extend his kindness, particularly towards animals. He was a member of the Paint Creek Baptist Church and found pleasure in caring for his Hereford cattle at his home.

He leaves behind his wife, Laurel Howard; son, Toby Howard and his wife, Caroline Jaques; daughter, Cindy Howard; son, Rodney Tsoodle and his wife, Leah Tsoodle; daughter, Capella Krewson and her husband, Gary Krewson; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Dub was preceded in death by his parents, Vernay Wilson Howard Sr. and Eula Mae Davis Howard.

Services will be held at Howard Cemetery on January 15, 2025, at 2:00PM. Contributions in memory of Dub can be made to Serenity House in Abilene, TX. Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
