Virginia "Ginger" Bruton

Virginia "Ginger" Bruton, 90, a beloved resident of Elbert, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Graham, Texas. A graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Elbert Cemetery in Elbert, Texas. A visitation for friends and family will take place from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thurshday, November 6, 2025 at Smith Family Funeral Homes, located at 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, Texas.

Ginger was born on July 29, 1935, in Proffitt, Texas, to Bernice and Merl (Masters) Wooldridge. She married Grady "Frank" Bruton on August 4, 1951, in Newcastle, Texas. Ginger was a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse who took great pride in her work. She was a longtime member of the Elbert Baptist Church. Ginger was also an avid reader.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Frank Bruton and his wife, Kim, of Elbert; her grandson, Matthew Bruton of Graham; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Ginger is preceded in death by her parents, Merl and Bernice Wooldridge, and her husband, Grady "Frank" Bruton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Elbert Baptist Church Memorial Fund, the Elbert Cemetery Fund, or Hero House of Graham, Texas.
