Walene Kaye Bredthauer, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. Walene was 60. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2015, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Haskell with Reverend Rob Harrison officiating and Pastor David White assisting. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Sunday evening, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Haskell located at 304 North Second Street.
Walene was born February 6, 1954, to Walter Warner Bredthauer and Alene (Weise) Bredthauer in Haskell, Texas. She graduated from Weinert High School in 1972 and then attended Angelo State University. Walene was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Haskell, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Alene Bredthauer.
Walene is survived by her father, Walter Bredthauer of Haskell, Texas; two brothers, Brian Bredthauer and wife Deborah of Angel Fire, New Mexico and Bennie Bredthauer and his wife Vickie of Haskell, Texas; five nephews, Justin Hannsz and wife Lindsay of Stephenville, Texas, Clay Bredthauer and Kyle Compton both of Stephenville, Texas, Ross Compton of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Koby Compton of Haskell, Texas; great-nephew, J. Jannsz of Stephenville, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers are Justin Hannsz, Clay Bredthauer, Kyle Compton, Ross Compton, Koby Compton, and Hal Guess.
Memorials can be given in Walene's name to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 7630 US Highway 380 E, Haskell, TX 79521, (940)-864-2670.
