Wanda (Grant) Phipps, 83, of Knox City, TX, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Foursquare Church, Knox City. Burial will follow services at the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6-7:00 PM, Friday October 1, 2021, at the funeral home, 210 Ave A, Knox City, TX.
Wanda was born August 23, 1938, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Sallie (Abston) and Clifton Grant. She enjoyed collecting Precious Moments and porcelain pigs. She was devoted to her family and to her church. Wanda enjoyed traveling and was a longtime member of the Foursquare Church in Knox City.
She is survived by her brother, Dearl Grant and wife Joann of Haskell; five nephews, Alfred Jennings and wife Mary Lou of Tyler, Ricky Calloway and wife Anne of Abilene, Larry Calloway and wife Valerie of Weatherford, Jerry Grant and wife Marcia of Lewisville, Mark Grant and wife Carla of Haskell; niece, Sue Jennings Robinson and husband Ronnie of Hogansville, Georgia; numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins; and special friends, Debbie and Jerry Curd, Beverly Speck, Danny and Sherry Speck, and Edith Broach.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sallie and Clifton Grant; husband, Leonard Phipps; brother, Bill Grant; four sisters, Evelyn Grant, Lucille Grant Jennings, Myrtle (Dink) Grant Large, Burnidean Grant Callaway; two nephews, Joseph Large, and Ronnie Callaway; and niece Starlene Pilcher.
