Wayne Wells

Wayne Wells, 94, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas with Mr. Keith Medford officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Wayne was born August 13, 1928, in Haskell County, TX to Ola (Windsor) and William Fletcher Wells. He served in the U.S. Army for almost 2 years. He married Dorthay (Thane) in 1958. He served for many years on the Paint Creek School Board and Paint Creek Water Supply Board. He was a self-employed farmer his whole life. He started farming as a little boy with his dad, farming cotton and wheat, and he continued until 2012. Over the years he grew his father's farm by buying more land. He has been a member of the Church of Christ in Haskell since he was 16 years old.

He is survived by his two daughters, Debra Wells of Dallas, Linda McDaniel and husband Clark, of Frisco; grandson Jonathan McDaniel and wife Madyson of Saratoga Springs, UT; granddaughter, Ashley Dickson and husband Caden of Hurricane, UT; and three great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ola and William Wells; and his wife, Dorthay Wells; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
