Wendell Arlen Talley

Wendell Arlen Talley, 79, of Graham, Texas and formally of Throckmorton, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Garden Terrace Healthcare Center in Graham. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Throckmorton with Rev. Peter Parker officiating. Burial will take place at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned for Thursday evening, September 19 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 107 N. Austin in Throckmorton.

Wendell was born on August 31, 1934 in Graham, Texas to Lillian Grace (Nichols) and Wiley T. Talley, Jr. Wendell went to barber college in Fort Worth and after graduating, worked at West Barber Shop in Fort Worth for many years. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Korean Conflict in 1954. He remained enlisted until 1957 at what time he was honorably discharged. He left from Treasure Island, California to return to his home state of Texas to resume his life here. Wendell moved to Graham in 2007.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Lillian Talley.
Wendell is survived by a daughter, Tami M. Talley of Olney, Texas; 2 dear cousins, Louese Hudgins and Sharon Bischofshausen; and a host of other cousins.
