Willa Beth Johansen

Willa Beth Johansen, former resident of Throckmorton, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014, at her residence in Denton, Texas. Mrs. Johansen was 89. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Throckmorton with Rev. Henry Chisholm officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

The only daughter, Willa Beth King was born January 13, 1925, in Throckmorton to William "Willie" Thomas (Jarmon) and Clarence Everett King. She graduated from Parkland School of Nursing where she became a registered nurse. Willa Beth married Robert Johansen and resided in Brownwood, Texas most of her adult life. She recently moved to Denton to be closer to her family.

Willa Beth is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johansen; infant daughter, Gayle Jean; parents, Willie and Clarence King; and 4 brothers, Jarmon King, Howard King, Carlton King and infant, Robert King.

She is survived by her two children, son, Robert Dan Johansen; and daughter, Betty Ann Johansen, both of Denton;
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Willa Beth's name to Union Presbyterian Church of Brownwood, 700 Fisk Avenue, Brownwood, TX 76801; or to a charity of your choice.
