William Watson, 65 of Knox City, Texas went to be with the Lord Friday, March 28, 2014 at Knox County Hospital in Knox City. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Knox City with Rev. Eddie Johnson officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
From a large family, William was born October 3, 1948 in Knox City, Texas to Amy Jo (Terry) and Charles Watson. William served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War earning 3 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged in 1972. William was the owner of Guinn Sheet Metal and Plumbing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Amy Jo and Charles Watson; 2 sisters, JoAnn and Verna Dean; and 1 brother, Alexander.
He leaves to cherish his memories daughters, Lennette Green and Amie Watson, both from Glen Burnie, Maryland; 5 brothers, Jimmy, Jerry, Eddie Bo, Robert, Ray; 5 sisters, Mary Ann, Adina, Marie, Rena, Nell, Charlotte; and 3 grandchildren, Breonna Watson, Amber and Aaron Reid. In addition, family dog, Molly; and a host of family and many dear friends.
