Wilma Smith, 80, a longtime resident of Benjamin, TX, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017. A private memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017. Cremation services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City.
Wilma was born December 21, 1936, in Atoka, OK, to Nettie Nails and Wilson McCorkle. She married Vernon Smith in October 1954, in Stillwater, OK. She loved sewing, making dresses and clothes for her children.
She is survived by her son, Vernon Smith of Alvarado; three daughters, Vicki Spence of Benjamin, Sandra Henson of Ft. Worth, Mickey Hedges of Granbury; two granddaughters; five grandsons; eight great grandchildren; and sister, Ruby Skidmore of Denison.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Smith; three brothers; five sisters; and three half sisters.
